The Mind Four - four categories you need to know to train your mind
To get a better understanding of the different ways to train your mind you need to understand the different categories of mental fitness you can train. Looking at meditation from a neuro-scientific and an advanced meditators point of view we can distill four main qualities we can train:
Mindfulness is the quality of our attention, but also our awareness of this attention and where it takes place (awareness, meta-awareness & interception)
Resonance, is the ability to vibe with ourselves and others (empathy, compassion & emotional intelligence)
Self-reflection is the capacity to understand how to make sense of our and other people’s perceptions of mind (meta-cognition, theory of mind, perspective)
Purpose is the capacity to translate our values into harmonized actions (interdependence & harmonization of values, goals and actions).
Wishing you a great week,
Nikolas
